Writing to the test of the machine
Poursuite de mes expérimentations avec la génération de textes grâce au deep learning, une exposition présentée dans le cadre du Printemps de la poésie par la galerie Le Cabanon à L’Université de Lausanne. L’exposition comprenait également la page interactive « Pastiches & mélanges ».
Les textes présentés ici se déclinent en trois types: Logismes rassemble des mots générés ou inspirés par un réseau entraîné sur le dictionnaire CNRTL; « pour commencer… » ainsi que les Morceaux sont le résultat d’un trajet en trois temps, a) la lente rédaction du corpus encore souterrain Ça I-VI, b) l’entraînement d’un réseau sur ce corpus et génération de textes bruts, c) réécriture (et traductions) des textes finaux; enfin, un essai touchant à certaines des problématiques rencontrées, qui peut se lire en parallèle à celui-là (en anglais).
One more set of experiments around text generation using deep learning, an exhibit presented at the occasion of the Printemps de la poésie by the gallery Le Cabanon at the University of Lausanne. The show also included the interactive page « Pastiches & mélanges ».
The texts presented here fit into three categories: Logisms gathers words generated or inspired by a network trained on the CNRTL dictionary (and then translated); “to begin with…” as well as the Lumps are the result of a three-pronged trajectory, a) the slow elaboration of the still subterranean corpus It I-VI, b) the training of a network on this corpus and the generation of raw texts, c) the rewriting (and translation) of the finished texts; finally, an essay pertaining some encountered issues and questions, that can be read in parallel with this one.
